500

Wow, this has been a long time in the making.

This is the finished version of an image that I created for the publication 'Book of Hope' in 2007. It pictures an awesome moment mentioned by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 - Jesus, who was dead, appears alive to over 500 of his followers at the same time. Paul even mentions that at the time of his writing, there were still living witnesses to this event. I imagine that Jesus had some important words for his followers for this appearance. Maybe it was the last one He made before ascending? Regardless, I thought it would be great to picture, and an uplifting reminder of our promise of Hope.

In Book of Hope, it was an activity image, made in black & white so kids could color it. (Which might have been a bit mean of me, given how detailed it is, and how long it took me to finish it!) I decided to finish it for it's re-release in 'Amazing Answers' a publication coming soon from Burning Bush Creation.

Let me tell you, coloring this is the longest I've ever spent coloring an image. It's definitely the most intricate picture in Amazing Answers. I'm so glad I finished it, though.

Fun Fact: Most scholars (Christian and non-Christian) think that the beginning of 1 Corinthians 15 is an ancient creed, dating back to within three years of the crucifixion. The appearance to the 500 is included in that creed, so it is a very ancient and early belief in the early Church.
